![]() ![]() Now I’m stuck with a phone that is less than a year old that looks like crap and I lost literally all of my data until Apple gets back to me on verifying my new phone number. I saw that there was a bug update to “fix green screens” or something so I updated my iOS but it didn’t fix my problem at all, if anything it made it worse. I got my iPhone 11 in November, it hasn’t been dropped in water, it has a protective Speck case and screen protector on it, it’s never fallen high drops, this all happened completely random I was at work and my phone was laying on the counter and it began doing this. It fixes itself if I lock it then unlock it but it slowly reappears within the next 5 minutes. the notification bar is glitched again and the screen will begin to glitch if I’m watching YouTube or sitting on the home screen. If the device has a round spot of dead pixels it may have been subjected to a more gradual pressure that left the front glass intact, while damaging the screen. On Android, press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys for 7-10 seconds to force-restart. When I factory reset it, it went back to normal.for five minutes. A black screen when your phone is on happens because of faulty apps, battery issues, or mechanical screen problems. when I got off of work I decided to factory reset (and now I’m locked out of my iCloud until tomorrow >:< ) my phone as someone told me it could possibly fix the issue. i deleted apps and photos to clear storage, nothing. I hard reset it a few times with the volume and power buttons, nothing happened. I restarted my phone and it stopped flickering but stayed glitched, colors became dull, lines horizontally and vertically on the screen. About 6 hours ago my iPhone 11, unprovoked, began to flicker and glitch for no reason.

![]() Golf With Your Friends is a long-tail title that was released in early access during 2016, but is still played and streamed regularly. Forget trying for the par trophies without a second player, put it that way.English publisher and developer Team17 has purchased the “rights and assets” for chaotic golf simulator Golf With Your Friends for £12 million, according to a report from. It’s a fair minigolf game but the putting is frustrating and latter holes are just that little too luck based. But the barren wastes of online play relegate this to a local hotseat only affair unfortunately. In conclusion, just as the title suggests, Golf With Your Friends is best played with other humans. Very little fun to be had, it’s just too attritional. Eight of the holes we got double figure scores on. Put it this way, par was 61 strokes and we got round in 136 strokes. It’s OK in the early stages but the further you progress, the worse it gets. The third and final course Volcano is the idiot cousin of the batch unfortunately. The Deep is also a good undersea themed course. Only a couple of the holes were overly luck based, so good will wasn’t eroded. The Escapists course, based as it is on the Team 17 prison release is better than we’d necessarily might’ve expected. Trial and error plays too much of a part unfortunately.īefore we close up, the three additional courses added via the newly available DLC pack are mostly good. All too often, you’ll be caught out by ill-explained mechanics and just expected to get on with it. Perhaps we’re playing it wrong, but it’s symptomatic of something else that bedevils Golf With Your Friends. It’s too reliant on a decent approach to a hole. We tried and tried to play it, but got nowhere. Rather than the idiosyncracies of putting, you’re just having to get the puck past the goalie into a net that’s roughly where the hole would be otherwise.ĭunk mode though. Hockey works really well in terms of the fact you’re playing on the same courses. In addition to standard pitch and putt, you’re able to play hockey mode & dunk mode. It might seem like we’re overwhelmingly focussing on the negatives here, but when you’re battling the courses rather than your opponents, it’s a little hard to shake that feeling. It doesn’t help that you’ll often struggle to know where you’re even supposed to get the ball, certainly with default settings anyway. This works just fine on early holes, but it’s a pathway to ruin in the latter stages of a round. Combined with the fact the game clock keeps ticking while you flyby, you’ll inevitably end up hitting and hoping for the best. You can flyby on the courses but you only get fifteen seconds total. Heck, if we were playing all out for the par trophies, we’d have as many extra hot seat players as we were able to give ourselves plenty of opportunity to practice. The obstacles and complications are such that you’ll often do well to be second to tee off, assuming you’re playing with another player. We can understand the devs want to incorporate the themes of each into the mechanics of the courses, but when they lead to you running out of shots or time and getting a stroke penalty, they get old. These generally are fun enough and fit the feel of the themes but just as often they can lead to your undoing. Space Station for example has blackholes. ![]() One egregious round had us under par until the twelfth hole, then two successive bad beats on holes had our until then decent score go out the window. This wouldn’t be so much of a problem if they didn’t sometimes have such a deleterious effect on an otherwise successful round. It works well for the most part but on a few occasions the additional mechanics thrust into the equation seriously mess things up. Forest is all verdant forests, just as Candyland is all confectionary themed. Gameplay wise, this is very much minigolf on a series of themed courses. Oddly, you can’t sign in to a second profile for the second player, so no progress towards trophies for them sadly. ![]() Much to our co-op partner’s delight, he’s been an integral part to our checking out the courses on offer here. Thankfully local multiplayer is very much a thing, simply add additional players in the offline lobby. At the point we wrote this review, admittedly almost six months post release, online is deader than this reviewer’s fashion sense. The default option is to play online, though forget randoms. We’ll get back to that at the conclusion of this review.Īs the name would indicate, Golf With Your Friends is very much best played with others as opposed to solo. We freely admit that this is our first sight of the game that initially came out in May 2020, reaching us courtesy of Team 17 to publicise the new DLC of three additional courses penned the New Worlds Pack. We didn’t get a cane, but since one of us was going to have to wrangle the kid it was easier if both weren’t carrying accessories.Īnyway, those were our costumes for Baby’s First Halloween. The sky-blue bow tie was simple to make, and I found striped ribbon for the boater hat with no problem. It took forever, since I had to let one side dry before moving on to the next panel of the jacket, but I finally finished with JUST enough yellow paint to spare. I carefully taped off stripes on each section of the jacket, and got to work. Some people had sewn ribbons (usually before sewing the jacket together), but I decided to go with fabric paint (Jacquard Textile Color, it’s great stuff). Then I had to figure out how to do the stripes. Next up was Bert!įirst up was finding a white suit jacket for my 6’3″ husband to wear as the base for the costume. While the movie hat has no flower decoration, I added silk flowers in white and red to make it pop a little. For the hat, I simply found a cheap straw hat, spray-painted it with several coats of white spray paint, and then added white tulle for the chin strap. While the movie parasol is lined in pink I didn’t bother with it, nor did I try to mold a flamingo head on the handle. The accessories were easy– I bought the parasol on Amazon and it was perfect as-is. Not willing to buy a pair of white granny boots, I opted for a pair of red low-heeled pumps, worn over white stockings with red buttons sewn up the sides (like spats). The shoes were actually nothing like the movie originals– in the movie, Mary Poppins wears white heeled boots. I chopped off the drawstring top, shortened it, and added a wide piece of elastic for the waistband. It turned out a little darker than expected, but it was still fine. ![]() Since it was Halloween season, I easily found a wedding gown petticoat at Goodwill, and used Jacquard iDye Poly to dye it pink in my washing machine. I also glued white double-fold bias tape over some of the boning channels to simulate the piping from the original costume. Then I sewed bias binding around all edges to encase the raw parts. So I just cut it to the proper length, then took out the spiral steel boning and replaced it with heavy-duty zip ties cut to the right length. Then I ran red ribbon through some lace for accents, and added wider red ribbon bows at intervals on the skirt.įor the waist cincher, it was a lot easier to find a full-length corset in red satin than to find it in the shorter length. While the original dress appears to have the jabot in pink rather than white, I didn’t think I could pull off the color subtly enough, so white it was. I also did some loose gathering up the sides to keep it from flopping around too much. I used some of the extra skirt fabric to make the jabot, which was basically just an oval of fabric that I gathered up the middle. The original waist was pretty high– much higher than my natural waist, but I figured the red waist cincher would cover that up. Then I took up the skirt at the waist in order to keep as much fullness at the hem as possible. ![]() I ended up inserting two panels in the back of the bodice, using white satin covered in white netting to maintain the same look all the way through. I ended up with a full-length, high-necked dress with sheer leg-of-mutton sleeves, so all I really had to do was take up the skirt to tea-length, and insert some fabric into the back bodice– it was definitely too small to fit me… darned vintage sizing. Vintage wedding dresses are a great place to start for this kind of thing, and given the Victorian resurgence of the 70s, I knew I’d be able to find something appropriate. Since I hate sewing garments from scratch (especially when they involve satin or other slippery fabrics), it was off to eBay to find an appropriate dress to use as a base. While I didn’t think I could replicate it exactly, I knew it had to be a white, full-skirted dress, with long sleeves, a frilly jabot, red ribbon accents, and a red waist cincher. The Mary Poppins Jolly Holiday dress is iconic, with good reason– it’s beautiful, and probably even more recognizable than the standard outfit she wears for the rest of the movie. But the first Halloween with our baby daughter, to my surprise, my husband agreed right off the bat to my first idea for a family costume– Mary Poppins and Bert, with the baby as one of the dancing penguins in the Jolly Holiday animated scene. ![]() It’s no secret that I enjoy making elaborate Halloween costumes. ![]() It does not store any personal data.In addition to changing his own body, the Ghost Fire also changes his motorcycle. ![]() The cookie is set by the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin and is used to store whether or not user has consented to the use of cookies. ![]() Your mason will go find the stone where ever it is (assuming there is some and he can get to it). (some folks find the quantum stockpile too exploity for their tastes, but being a single player game it's up to you). you usually have either a stone stockpile or you use a quantum stockpile by dump/reclaim. Making a stone stockpile is one way, another common way is to make garbage zone, dump a bunch of stone near the masons's workshop and reclaim it. What's the point? Workers work more efficiently if their supplies are near their workshops, so it can be advantageous to have stones near a mason's workshop. Once they are reclaimed, they're available, and dwarves may use them to fill any empty stockpile. Designate stones for dumping and they will be moved to a garbage zone (with no limit to the number per tile, this is known as "quantum stockpiling"). Things are only ever moved in to a garbage zone when they're designated for dumping. The dwarves will attempt to fill any stockpile with things it allows until it is full. Stone stockpiles, refuse stockpiles, and garbage zones are relavant here. Ok, let me see if I can sum this up without writing a small novel -) There are "piles" (or "stockpiles") and "zones". Alternatively, some critics have positively reviewed the movie with the statement that it too deserves a cult following, stating in elaboration that where the first film was a tribute to 1970s horror films, the second film was meant to replicate the scares of the 1980s. Conversely, its sequel was also met with mixed reception with criticism directed towards its inferiority to the original, while making much less monetary gain. Despite this, it has since been praised by contemporary film critics, as a cult classic in the horror genre. The first film was initially met with mixed critical reception upon its release, though it made a large profit at the box office. Continuing this marketing technique, a "based on a true story" tag was also included at the beginning of the sequel. Though the first film was marketed as "based on a true story", this was a misdirect as the filmmaker stated that he wrote the concept from a series of break-in burglaries that took place in his neighborhood when he was growing up, as well as borrowing elements from the Manson Family Tate killings.
